Paris and pictures and lousy language skills

Some pics from out latest little journey over to the continent. Paris was so much more fun than I thought it would be. Although my desk job has left me with soft feet which gave me some problems.

Sometimes the ceilings are more interesting than the pictures!

moving down etc

My last post was little to do with 'running bad' more to do with not being able to pin point why I was leaking money.

After moving down to $0.05/0.10 I moved back up a little to $0.25/0.50. Not a great jump I know but I do feel I've bottomed in my free fall.

This has been borne out my me sticking to good tight play and dumping hands of top pair good kicker type when a player perks up.

It's not the hands I'm winning so much as the hands I'm mucking.

Battering

I took a battering at $1/2 6Max limit. Pity really because I didn't feel outplayed at any time. I'm not suggesting for a minute that I suffered bad beats just that things didn't go my way. Anyway I've only played about 1000 or so hands so it's no big deal.

It does mean that I have to drop down. So I've decided to drop all the way down to micro $.5/.10 micro limit. It might seem extreme but I've got a lot of reading to do over the next month or so. I'll be going over a lot over 2+2 forum stuff.

I'm intrigued by the difference at the levels of play and if I'm surrounded by worse players I should be able to beat it, right? 10,000 hands coming up. Hoping that I can multi-table as a winning player to get these hands in. I'll make a start just one table at a time.

Also things at work and in the economy are still a little precarious it's always at the back of my mind. This could be a contributing factor to my poor results at $1/2 limit. <-- insert excuses here :o)

Like all aspects of life at no time have you ever 'cracked it'. The only hope you can have is to be a consistent winner.

Ugh! NL

I've been playing micro NL at Full Tilt, ugh!. Don't be results orientated? You have to be kidding, it's impossible not to be. Only 500 hands and I've remembered why I started playing Limit.

Limit gets such a bad press. NL players talk about how you get odds to call draws etc. Well that's a good thing isn't it? It works both ways after all.

Note 1: For future reference, when you get up to $.50/1 at Poker Stars the games are surprisingly passive. Yes the whole table does fold from your early position raise!

Note 2: I am results orientated. I need to make that clear to myself.

Poker?

Not much poker being played. But when I am I'm concentrating on the very basics.

I've started to take notes on the players at PAO. Not so much for individual information but to gauge how similar players are. I do wonder if there is at times a herd extinct at work at the poker sites.

Big bets big hands

Ok. I'm not making headway due to the fact that I don't play a different game against the better players at the table.

I should add here I'm playing PAO. I'm getting my head around all the mistakes I've made in the past.

My bank roll isn't that large. I can't afford to go online making simple errors.

So I'll renew an old mantra which is 'big bets mean big hands'.

Work 'n' variance

Since my last post long, long ago the economy and work have caught up with me. I've not done so badly lots of people have come off worse.

So that's enough of that and onto 'what now?' as far as my poker learning curve goes. Back to PAO for a start and practice some good habits.

All that I need is at PAO there are similar players micro stakes NL. It's going to take a few weeks to get some confidence.

Also I'll have to update all my poker software, my tracker etc. Now if I can just remember which accounts I left my bankroll in...

Regards to all.
